The papers of New Hartford, Connecticut, tool manufacturer Hermon Chapin. His firm changed names over the years, especially after being taken over by his sons. Among the papers are military commissions, business correspondence, account books from the firm's early days, law suits, mortgages and property deeds. Also includes a room-by-room inventory of the factory.
